Similarities: Food is already prepared before ordering, Items are entered into the register using buttons with pictures, Staff is quick to serve the food.

Differences: McD is known for burgers, KFC is known for chicken. McD’s trademark is the golden arch, KFC’s is the bucket of chicken. McD’s filets are fried twice, KFC fries their chicken 1 time.

PS: one other difference. KFC, the only thing missing is you. McDonalds, doesn’t need a ‘U’. Maybe in some countries where it’s pronounced Mac’ Dune-alds.

the first point is the cost of KFC is high where as the rate of Macdonald’s is very low it do not alternate
the second point is the KFC only the chicken present which fried but in Macdonalds chiken is present with some other ingredients
the third point is KFC isalso tasty and Macdonalds is also tasty

    Similarities:
    - Both serve fast food.
    - Both are hazards to health. Found to be oily and fatty. Have been critisised by the people about it and is a public debate.
    - Both are global fast food chains.
    - Both originated in USA.
    - Both have been involved in lawsuits over trademark disputes.

    Differences:
    - There would be differences in packaging, of course. You might want to mention KFC’s famous paper bucket.
    - KFC has a wider range of ways to prepare chicken. McD’s focus is primarily on hamburgers and fried chicken while KFC does wraps, salads and pieces (ala Popcorn Chicken) or sometimes even pies and kebabs.
    - McD’s offers breakfast while KFC doesn’t.
    - McD’s offers drive-through service while KFC doesn’t.

Well there are obviously a number of differences in their menu. KFC is focussed almost entirely on chicken while McDonald’s offers more variety including chicken. MCD is a considerably larger company by revenue and number of locations. Both are in the “Quick Serve Restaurant” industry (commonly called fast food). In the 2007 rankings of QSR brands by sales, McD remained at number one, while KFC slipped from 7 to 8. McDonald’s food is prepared fresh per order (contrary to an answer above). The components do come packaged or frozen but the meats are cooked fresh to order and each sandwich is made fresh. Even the salads are asssembled at the store several times a day. KFC’s chicken does come frozen to the location but many stores do bread and fry the chicken in batches during the day.
McD has the highest standards of sanitation and food quality in the industry, KFC’s standards (at least in my experience) are a bit more lax. Further, the majority of McD outlets are owned by franchisees while KFC is held largely by the corporation or several very large franchise groups. McDonald’s is a privately held and independent company. KFC is a division of Yum brands which also owns Long John Silvers, Taco Bell, and others–which is why you often see KFC in a joint location with another QSR brand. KFC was formerly owned by PepsiCo before the spinoff to Yum. McD has always been independent. Hope that helps.
