A stupid question: what part of the chicken is in the kentucky fried chicken pieces?

yawmeorw asked:

At KFC, they have the drumstick and there is also get the other larger piece of fried chicken. Is it called the thigh?

If i’m not making myself clear above, say when you order two pieces of chicken at KFC, they usually give you one drumstick and then one other piece of chicken, what is that piece of chicken called?

Stupid question, but i have a bet with someone that it is called the thigh, but i’m not sure myself.

Yes, it’s a thigh unless you order a mixed box, which they did when I worked there in H.S. then the larger piece is a breast.
If it is really oily and not dry at all then it is a thigh if it is a little drier then it’s a breast.
The only stupid question is a question that is unasked.
    LOL

If you like the chicken breast the best you can ask for it,I think it cost a little more. Its a bigger piece and its all white meat. not everyone likes dark meat(legthigh)

Your right it’s a stupid questiion. Read their menu, they have wings, breasts, legs, thighs depends on wheterr you order all white, all dark or mixed.

Sometimes it is a thigh, sometimes part of the breast - KFC actually chops full breasts into 3, not 2, pieces. The bottom piece which cuts across both breast sides they call a keel.
