I like to marinate the chicken in hot sauce before battering and frying, but I don’t put it on after frying. I’m white.

Why do you mention balck people with fried chicken..I am white…European white….and we have eaten fried chicken as long as I can remember…with ot without hotsauce. So, it doesn’t matter if you are black, white, yellow, gren or whatever….that’s just stupid.

It depends on a persons taste buds, not the color of their skin.

Nope!! I am not a fan of chicken, fish, or pork!! Gross!!

However I love ***** Fil La and mayo!! Yum!!!

I think this was a staple from the slave days!! That was all there was to eat and they ate!! IT would be my guess like mexican’s with beans and tortillas!! Right!!

Fried Chicken actually originated with poor Scottish people in the South. African slaves took the idea and added spices, as often times, chickens were the only animals they could keep or afford. Also, fried chicken could keep for a few days, so it was an ideal food for traveling, as most restaurants in the South would not serve black people.

Hot sauce first came onto the market in 1807, in 1849, the chili peppers used in modern Tobasco and Louisiana hot sauce was successfully grown in Louisiana.

The idea of serving sauce with fried chicken actually started in Maryland. The dish was called “Maryland Fried Chicken, and was on menus in New York by 1878. The first sauce for fried chicken was actually gravy made from the remaining fat left in the pan after frying the chicken.

I can’t find a source for hot sauce and fried chicken, but I think it ocurred when they started producing the hot sauces in the south in the mid-1800s. Most people of that time would eat what was available to them in their area.

I prefer hot sauce on my eggs and steaks - I let my fried chicken go cold and I dip it in Mayo. Though my mom’s boyfriend loves hot sauce on everything. He says it’s because the vinegar and the heat will kill stuff in the food and it taste’s good.
