No, fried chicken needs to be deep fried to get the “fried” chicken.
Grilling it will make “grilled” chicken.

um….if you use a grill - its grilled chicken.
if you use the oven - its fried….
even if you tried to fry chicken on a grill, it’d be messy….my opinion anyway. and probably not be as moist - more dried out.

If you put the pot full of oil on the grill, it most likely turn out correct if the temperature is controlled.

If you use a fry pan I can’t see why not. With oil of course……During Hurricane Isabel a few years back I cooked everything on a grill with pots and pans (I had to cook and eat, eat and cook, lol) Didn’t try chicken but I boiled water made rice even….Good luck.

No. If you cooked it on the grill it would be grilled chicken. Fried means you have to do it in oil, and I don’t see how you could do that on a grill. If it is breaded, like fried chicken ought to be, I don’t think it will turn out right any way.

Forget the “fried” and baste it with BBQ sauce…even better!
Otherwise, if you have a deep-fat fryer, cook the chicken outside on the picnic table.

my grill has a side burner or just put a heavy pan on the grill (it’s heat!) then put baked potatoes or something around it

bad idea, fried chicken actually has to be fried…..if you put it on the grill, then you’d definately have grilled chicken.
i don’t think battered chicken will work on a grill if you did that.
