DerrenB asked: I bought some southern fried chicken last night, ate all I could and left the last pieces on the side. The chicken is now 12 hours old. Can I eat it? I want to reheat it it but is that safe? Can I even eat it cold as it is? It was not refridgerated. And yes I am lazy. I know I should just throw it away and make something else, but the chicken is staring me in the face and I’m hungy.

Throw it out, unless you really like being sick. That chicken is full of bad bacteria now.

There is a saying that I always keep in mind, “when in doubt through it out”.

Bake it for a while in an oven, should kill off the microorganisms. Just to be safe, bare with the hunger and go get some more or eat another food. By the way, I have eaten chicken a week old but I kept it in the refrigerator.
