Did Kentucky Fried Chicken taste way better in the 1960s and 1970s?

I grew up down South where folks take pride in Southern Fried Chicken and KFC was no exception.
Nothing went better with a barrel of KFC than ice-cold Coca-Cola in glass bottles.

i believe before the chicken was more natural and tastier. it had better spicies and flavour. the chicken was way better than the chicken they have now. the chicken now is feel with chemicals and so much cruelty are cause to the chickens themselves. the chickens are stuff with chemiclas so that they could grow very fast and so causes us to feel sick as well. but i must say KFC was way better than now.

I would hope so, because it’s nasty now. At least if it USED to taste good it would maybe explain why people like it. And pop in glass bottles rocks!

Can’t say it tasted better, but it was bigger pieces, and when you got a bucket it was a BIG bucket.

It’s quite possible it did taste better back then but because it was only very new to the market in Australia and there was nothing to compare it with, it was an instant success.

Today though there are so many varieties of chicken around that I think people have forgotten just how unique the taste was back then.

Also I’ve visited a number of KFC stores where the staff don’t take as much pride in their work as they used to with the end result being some of the chicken is quite oily.

Yeah, I think it did. Remember, MSG was a common ingredient back then and that might explain the different taste. Even the mashed potatoes and cole slaw were better. I can’t stand the stuff they call coleslaw now, it’s too chopped up and flavorless. One more vent also: I want the individual cups back that they used to put the mashed and slaw in. You get about a spoonful of each thing now because of the ‘plates’ they use now. They’re useless. If you tip it slightly, you get gravy in the cole slaw and cole slaw liquid all over everything.

Sorry, you got me going! I used to love KFC but I could take it or leave it these days.

I think a lot of that fast food junk tasted better when we were little kids than it does now. Wonder if it’s us or the food?
