I want to cook fried chicken but I don’t have enough flour. Can I just cook the fried chicken without using flour or do i have to have it?

You could also use dried bread crumbs or minced corn flakes. If you have a little bit of flour, dip the chicken very lightly in that first, dip it in a bowl with a beaten egg and then cover it with the crumbs or corn flakes.

I think you should have it. There are probably substitutes other answerers will give you. However, for really good fried chicken you need flour.

Yes you can, but it will really pop, or splater grease.. Listen…I fry chicken in the oven, no flowering needed, no popping ever.. Season to taste or according to your favorite recipe.. Back at 425F

Use the flour that you have instead of panfrying it use your oven 425 degrees for 45 minutes.

Do you have any corn meal, bread crumbs anything like that? Those would work just as well or even better. But if you don’t have any, just go ahead and fry it plain. It will be a bit different, but will still taste yummy. Love fried chicken!

If you have self rising flour use it.
If not I would put the uncoated chicken in the oven and bake it.
    Just an idea.

You can fry it w/o, but it won’t have a crust. IMO, why eat it w/o the crust?!?!?

Do you have bisquick? You can use that. Or Self-rising flour.

You can fry it without the flour–the skin will be crispy. If you want to coat it with something, you could use self-rising flour, crushed corn flakes or bread crumbs, but not corn meal–that’s yucky.

You can dip into a mixture of crushed corn flakes and dry instant mash potato mix then bake in the oven

No you don’t ….but the chicken won’t have the thick crunchy coating on it…it’ll just have crispy skin….it’s still good tho
