(some) Americans seem to believe that their country is the only nation to exist in this world. A few experiences while there for six month in 2006

1) being of Pacific Island heritage, i was asked ‘are you hispanic?’. I said ‘no’. And then this stupid question was then answered…’so your half black half white arentcha?’

2)Guy i know from a friend of mine
me: yeah im from australia…
him: oh, thats near alaska is it? STUPID..

3)Where is KENTUCKY fried chicken originated from? says i to my cousin…
reply: ‘holdon, let’me think’…..

LETS FACE IT GUYS, ITS TRUE! give us a feed back on your views….CONTROVERSIES ON!

I completely agree with you. I too am of Pacific Island heritage (to be more specific, I’m from GUAM). Every time I go to the mainland I get idiot people asking me if my society has advanced enough. Most people who know about Guam ask me if we wear grass skirts and whether or not we speak English, yet they see me dressed like them and speaking perfect English. I’m sometimes embarrassed for these people because they are perfect examples of how close-minded and non-educated people really are. So, before anyone gets upset, all I’m saying is learn a little something about somewhere other than the cities surrounding you, you may be surprised to find that it’s a whole lot more interesting.
