Have they changed the cooking oil in making KFC Chicken?

David H. asked:

In other words, if they have, does anyone think that it has affected the taste (for better or worse).
I hope that they haven’t changed the taste of the chicken (or the recipe). I don’t want to waste my money going over there to find out.

I’ve eaten at KFC before and after the changes and honestly I like it better.

They are cooking with 100% vegetable oil now. It has affected the taste slightly; it’s not what it once was, but it’s still decent. The recipe tastes exactly the same as before.. but you can tell a bit that the oil has changed. McDonalds has done this too.

It’s healthier, so it has took a turn for the worse.

They now use 30 weight motor oil. But it still tastes about the same……

Sir, I have been to KFC lately, and i asked them when i was dining in the restaraunt. They said ummmmm….. so, i don’t have an answer from them. But if you ask me, they have. They put some nasty stuff that is “NO trans fat” but all it really does is give you sort of a sickness. They didn’t actually change the recipe of the chicken, just the oils it was cooking in.
