Arc Burn asked:
Wouldn’t the compasionate thing to do be to buy buckets of chicken and coleslaw and feed these people. Do chickens mean more to these protestors than suffering humans??
I understand that people have the right to protest anything they want. But, we each have the right to set priorities and it seems these people have put chickens above suffering humans. I do donate food to the local homeless shelters.

They’re PETA. Black people go to KFC. I guess Peta thinks that animals > black people.
2:24 pm - February 23rd, 2008
The human do this to themselves. The chicken do not ask to be butchered.
10:48 am - February 24th, 2008
peta is a piece of ****.
2:29 am - February 25th, 2008
because they see animals as higher life forms than people?
4:27 am - February 25th, 2008
Yes Chickens mean more to PETA then hungry homeless people, their logic is animals can’t stand up for themselves and speak up, but hungry homeless people can, besides a Homeless person can just dig through the garbage and find something to eat if they were that desperate, i do that sometimes and im not even homeless.
10:12 am - February 25th, 2008
PETA supports animal right, not human rights. They could care less about the homeless people.
10:36 am - February 28th, 2008
I really agree. Although I agree with PETA about the animal abuse thing, at least they HAVE to not just look after animals, what happened to looking for the humans? It’s like they don’t evn care about humans. PETA *****!
3:48 am - March 1st, 2008
PETA *****. Point blank. Humans mean more to me than any animal, but that doesn’t change my stance on being a vegetarian.
6:22 pm - March 3rd, 2008
Oh, so because there are homeless people Peta can’t be against KFC for cruelty to chickens. I see how that makes sense. NOT!
1:45 am - March 5th, 2008
the same way they love animals but are OK with violence towards humans.
hypocrisy.
2:13 pm - March 7th, 2008
PETA has lost their way
When they send a letter to ben and jerry, demaning they stop using cow’s milk in their products ans switch to human milk, that is whacked
They are concerned about exploitation of the cow (so i guess it is OK to exploit people)
8:44 pm - March 10th, 2008
PETA is propaganda. They like to make statements, regardless of the hypocrisy of their actions. Like, for example, when PETA launched the new idea that leather use was alright, just to get money in support of ‘Meats Not Green’.
PETA… not as ethical as one might assume.
12:14 pm - March 12th, 2008
I care far more about animals than I do people. Animals are without the knowledge to better themselves in the world, and thus are imposed upon by us.
Humans have the capability to succeed and get ahead on their own. That doesn’t mean I won’t help a bum out if I can, but it does mean that I don’t give a crap about the average person. I care about people who have bothered to either make something of themselves or remain compassionate or skilled while maintaining a healthy attitude and diminished ego.
People have the right to protest whatever they want. If you care so much about homeless people, instead of running your mouth about PETA protesters at KFC, why don’t you go protest or actively involve yourself with a soup kitchen for the homeless?
Oh, that’s right, because all you are is mouth, like 95% of other people.
10:02 pm - March 13th, 2008
Because 90% of peta are uneducated band waggoners and the other 10% only look at the extreme side of the spectrum and try to use what they see in the extremes to make everything look bad
12:34 am - March 15th, 2008
They don’t believe in eating animals, and buying chicken would not only go against their morals, but would give money to the very thing they’re protesting.
If you’re so concerned about the homeless and hungry, then YOU buy them meals. Better yet, YOU help them get on their feet and establish themselves and improve their lives.
Give someone a meal and a place to sleep for a night and they’ll be hungry and needy again soon. Give them a job and help them get a small place of their own and then they can get their own food and not be homeless.
Food from KFC will not solve their problems. Besides, not everyone believes that humans are the most important things in the universe.
10:10 pm - March 17th, 2008
I ahte PETA, I could care less about animals.
2:27 am - March 18th, 2008
PETA happens to be one of the most terrorist groups on the planet…
I was a breeder of champion Brittanies for 15 years…At a dog show, I think it was in Texas, A bunch of PETA people came in and proclaimed that “ALL ANIMALS SHOULD BE FREE AND FREE TO BREED WITH WHATEVER THEY WANT” !
They proceeded to let dozens of dogs out of the safety of their cages and into the streets…6 dogs, champion showdogs, loved family members were killed on the streets that day…
It’s like these people are brainwashed…So much so that their agenda is way more important than the animals…
moj..
9:05 pm - March 20th, 2008
PETA is scary….
They’d rather watch animals live, and humans die.
5:04 am - March 24th, 2008
PETA are a bunch of attention ****** who are more concerned with drawing attention to their annoying theatrics than with animal rights. Their agenda doesn’t include the homeless. You might as well ask why EVERYONE doesn’t make an effort to feed the homeless. As much as I **** PETA, they don’t claim to be advocates for the poor.
Note to Gwen: The vast majority of homeless people do not “do this to themselves”. You don’t have to take care of them, but at least make an effort to understand their situation before you pass judgment on them.
10:32 am - March 25th, 2008
I can’t stand PETA. I despise them very much. I agree with most answerers above me. PETA is a hypocrite. They only care for animals. For them, it’s okay to show violence and cruelty against humans. That’s just psycho. I wish the government would disband them because for me, that organization does more bad than good.
1:58 am - March 27th, 2008
I believe that human interests should always be put first. We live in a world where environmental and other types of restrictions make it harder to get by, much less be successful. One example of animals being put ahead of humans is that the company I worked for lost out on a job due to the close proximity of a bald eagle’s nest, which isn’t even an enangered species anymore.
11:17 pm - March 28th, 2008
I am not a PETA member but I am a vegetarian and an animal welfare supporter who does agree with PETA’s stance on KFC.
I’m sorry, why must we buy from KFC again? It would be more compassionate to buy from ethical companies and feed homeless than to buy from KFC. I don’t see how doing business with KFC somehow factor into being compassionate. Besides, a lot of vegetarians are involved in groups like Food Not Bombs which is a food salvaging charity group that dumpster dive for perfectly good food that business like grocery store throw away before expiration date and use that to feed people (Helping the environment and helping people at the same time). Even PETA themselves do a lot for homeless people by asking for people to donate their unwanted fur coat and giving them to homeless people in colder areas.
I participate in food drives and donate money to people causes (never for animal cause. At least not yet). I prefer to help people without dirtying my hands with KFC.
11:16 am - March 29th, 2008
Hey brilliant “Gwen”- and the humans asked to be homeless? You understand that about 1/2 of the homeless people in this country are homeless because they have a mental disorder such as bi-polar, severe depression, schizophrenia, etc. which prevents them from being able to take care of themselves and that since laws were passed proclaiming that all psychiatric patients over 18 were released onto the streets en masse unless they were able to communicate that they needed to be there because the government didn’t want to support them anymore? And the other half is usually a victim of circumstance, such as losing their job? I suppose you’re one of those people that passes them on the street when they’re begging and hungry and dirty, thinking “maybe you should stop being so lazy and get a job”? God- some people.
9:57 pm - March 31st, 2008
Homeless people can go get a damn job. It is called, clean up a little, walk in a store, ask for an application, and get a job. I don’t see why KFC can’t hire them, all the people that work there look homeless already. The chickens on the other hand don’t need jobs. They don’t ask to be slaughtered and sent away to big city’s for large, hungry people to scarf down on a dollar menu. Quit hating on PETA and go work at the soup kitchen.
