It is called, clean up a little, walk in a store, ask for an application, and get a job. I don't see why KFC can't hire them, all the people that work there look homeless already. The chickens on the other hand don't need jobs. They don't ask to be slaughtered and sent away to big city's for large, hungry people to scarf down on a dollar menu. You understand that about 1/2 of the homeless people in this country are homeless because they have a mental disorder such as bi-polar, severe depression, schizophrenia, etc. which prevents them from being able to take care of themselves and that since laws were passed proclaiming that all psychiatric patients over 18 were released onto the streets en masse unless they were able to communicate that they needed to be there because the government didn't want to support them anymore? And the other half is usually a victim of circumstance, such as losing their job? I suppose you're one of those people that passes them on the street when they're begging and hungry and dirty, thinking "maybe you should stop being so lazy and get a job"? God- some people. I'm sorry, why must we buy from KFC again? It would be more compassionate to buy from ethical companies and feed homeless than to buy from KFC. I don't see how doing business with KFC somehow factor into being compassionate. Besides, a lot of vegetarians are involved in groups like Food Not Bombs which is a food salvaging charity group that dumpster dive for perfectly good food that business like grocery store throw away before expiration date and use that to feed people (Helping the environment and helping people at the same time). Even PETA themselves do a lot for homeless people by asking for people to donate their unwanted fur coat and giving them to homeless people in colder areas. I participate in food drives and donate money to people causes (never for animal cause. At least not yet). I prefer to help people without dirtying my hands with KFC. We live in a world where environmental and other types of restrictions make it harder to get by, much less be successful. One example of animals being put ahead of humans is that the company I worked for lost out on a job due to the close proximity of a bald eagle's nest, which isn't even an enangered species anymore. They proceeded to let dozens of dogs out of the safety of their cages and into the streets...6 dogs, champion showdogs, loved family members were killed on the streets that day...
