How can products like Coca Cola and KFC have secret ingredients?

Hickemtwiddle asked:

Doesn’t the law require ingredients to be listed on the product, or, made available to the public upon request?

I don’t think that they have a secret ingredient so much as a secret recipe. The ingredients are the same in coke and Pepsi the the amounts vary.
