Forget about the 11 herbs and spices. They tested KFC in a laboratory and found lots of salt and pepper. No other herbs and spices.

The real secret to their chicken is cooking it in a pressure fryer. They cost about $200. They are not the same thing as a pressure cooker.

For me, it's easier to just hit the drive thru window for a bucket of extra crispy.

Unfortunately, the thing that makes their chicken taste so good is monosodium glutamate. But that is not a healthy thing to eat.

I'll bet you can find a tasty alternative on recipe search... try just putting the words Kentuky Fried Chicken... I'll bet you get what you are looking for. Find two recipe search engines at the Leap Over Web Clutter section of New Free Books.

Yummm, my favorite!

You will need a pressure cooker. Go here for the original way that it was cooked by his mom. She used spices:

It won't be 'the same' but you can come close if you do this:

Wash the chicken pieces.
Break two or three eggs in a large bowl and add a little milk.
Dunk the chicken piece in the egg mixture and then roll it on a plate covered with crushed corn flakes.
Bake the pieces in a heated 450 degree oven for about 20-30 minutes. Make sure you use Crisco or lard in the pan and put enough so it keeps the pan wet on the bottom.
Once the pieces turn crispy brown, it's ready. (If you cook them too long, the meat will be dry).
Good luck.

Dip the chicken pieces in flour, then in raw beaten egg (with salt and pepper) and then roll them in the flour again and deep fry. Don't have this too often though - it's not healthy.
