How to make fried chicken without actually frying it?

fried chicken
GyNa asked:

I am looking for an alternative to frying foods, but my family likes fried chicken, so how can I cook chicken to give it that same crunch , texture and taste?

You can’t, but you can just bake it. And by the way, it’s not fried chicken unless you fry it.

Try using crushed corn flakes for breading before you bake it.

    Buy shake’n’ bake for chicken.
It comes out like fried chicken( but it’s baked).
And I don’t usually like boxed items like this
but shake ‘n’ bake is a great product.

I have the best way…..Wash and season your chicken as you normally would and lay it flat on a cookie sheet.Turn the oven on 350 and let it cook It will become crispy (skin), the inside still nice and juicy and tender and all the grease will drain out! So it’s healthier and crunchy,Don’t add any flour or batter just wash it up and add seasoning(garlic, pepper etc). It’s quick and delicious. It’s called over fried. Please try it and enjoy! The only way I do it.

bake it,the fat from the chicken will work to moisten the flour texture or ground flakes,cornmeal/flour.just remember to rotate half way thru the baking process

Bread the chicken with whole wheat bread crumbs (you can ground up your own-Just take a few slices of toasted whole wheat bread). Season chicken with salt, and pepper. Beat up some eggs. Dip the chicken in the egg mixture, season with some herbs while wet, and into the bread crumbs. Brown both sides with olive Oil (2-3 minutes on each side). Put the browned chicken into the oven. This is the closest to fried chicken.

Im not sure if this is any healthier but people make fried chicken in the oven all the time. They just take a big pan that is deep, they fill it with oil and let it get hot in the oven and they coat the chicken just the same and everything but they just heat up the oil in the oven and keep it in the oven. Hope that helped. For more info you can go to recipes.com or something and try to look it up. GOOD LUCK
