Well if you cant convince the school to change or at least put in a salad bar….

you should bring your lunch to school with you… there are so many different lunch ideas you can pack and they will keep fresh until you get to eat them at lunchtime..

yeah it might seem lame to bring your own, but if your options aren’t the healthy choice you want in your body, then be “lame” then.. but you’ll be alot healthier than those that eat all that junk food..

Shame on the school board who doesnt step in and make the lunch program more healthy! or offer choices.

Pack your own lunch and eat healthy.

My little sister has the same problem. She packs her lunch now. She usually takes along a Nitro-Tech protein bar or the packaged tuna/chicken pouches and precut veggies like broccoli.

Also, the cafeteria line offers her school just side dishes if they want. Usually there is some sort of steamed veggie offered.

Good to see someone at your age actually pay attention to what they are putting into their body!! Keep it up!

From what I’ve been told, the government’s guidelines for K-12 nutrition are getting stricter beginning in the fall. This may just be the case here in Kentucky, but I thought it was nationwide. Some schools are not even allowing students to go off campus to eat anymore so they can provide proper nutrition. I hope you’ll go back to school and be very surprised. I doubt the food service at your school will be able to offer those selections in the fall.
