♥ Hunter’s Mommy ♥ is TTC asked: I have a deep fryer. Fry daddy in case someone asks. I need a recipe on how to make spicy chicken. Mine always comes out very bland. The chicken tastes great but I just want to season it better. Like how does jack in the box get their spicy bites so spicy??
I will take all your chicken spicing idea’s. I want to fry up some chicken tonight and am waiting to go grocery shopping after your replies. Thanks so much.
I already dip it into egg and flower before hand.

Try marinating your chicken in Frank’s Red Hot Sauce (The traditional base for Buffalo Wings) for a couple hours. the acid in the sauce will help to tenderize the chicken, and let the flavour penetrate. Then you can dip it into your seasoned flour, then egg batter (add a few dashes of the hot sauce to your egg batter as well), and back into seasoned flour and finally fry it all up.
Also, Since the hot sauce has a high sodium content, cut back a bit on the salt that your recipe calls for.
Also, for a lighter, crispier texture, try a beer batter, between flour dippings instead of just a plain egg batter. My favourite-
3/4 cup beer
2/3 cup all purpose flour
1 beaten egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
If the batter becomes too thick from excess flour dipping, just thin it with the extra beer.
