well the kernal died along with his recipe if u ask me, here in Oz, KFC was delicious up until about 15-20 yrs ago and it slowly declined in flavor, portion size, quality and taste, these days its greasy, dry even bland….and…the quality is a joke…..the only thing which hasn’t changed is its still a rip off………the sooner we can all make the old fashioned KFC at home, the sooner we put them outta business, hahhahah

See if one of the above links is what you are looking for.
Dip chicken pieces in beaten eggs
Then turn them over in regular bread crumbs (commercial)
Finally plunge them in the flour-spices mixture (above)
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Place chicken in a tray and cover with foil (shiny side out)
Cook 40 minutes.
Remove the foil then cook for another 40 minutes
Baste lightly with oil 5 minutes before the end
Let stand 5 minutes and serve.
======================================…
2 cup Flour
2 tb Salt
1 tb Ground french thyme
1 tb Sweet basil leaves
1 ts Ground oregano
2 tb Pepper
1 tb Ground mustard
4 tb Paprika
1 ts Garlic salt
1 tb Ground Jamaica ginger
**MSG ??! Celery salt?
Mix all spices and flour together. Take pieces of cut-up chicken and dip in raw egg (slightly beaten). Roll in spices. Fry chicken in oil. Bake in 350 F oven for 45 minutes in foil.
I gave to my friend and she made both of different at different times… the recipe that uses the oven, can be done in the deep fryer.
