Is boneless fried chicken high in fat?

fried chicken
denimcap asked:

I always thought fried foods were so fatty, but searching sites like nutritiondata and recipe sites that provide nutritional info, it seems like boneless skinless chicken (breast) fried in flour, w/o any batter) contains like NO fat, or little more than when baked.

Are those figures I’m finding accurate?
How do you fry in cooking spray? I don’t mean stir fry, in the photos there was a crispy flour coat.

It depends on how you fry it. If it’s fried in oil then there is a lot of fat. If you use some type of cooking spray then there is not much fat.

Always remember that anything fried in fresh, properly temped oil absorbs far less fat than in old oil.

Also keep in mind that pan frying is considerably healthier than deep frying.

Anything fried is going to be fatty because it’s covered in oil.

Chicken fat is in the skin, not the bones. And the way you cook it adds the rest of the ‘fat’.
    Peace.

You need to take off the skin and bake it. Try to get an appointment with a good dietitian at a hospital. They know all the new facts about food and the proper ways to cook with no fat.
