KFC, WaMu, BevMo.who loves it when companies try to make them selves seem hip by going with shortened names?

I give KFC a little leeway because they did it a long time ago,
but Washington Mutual (Wa Mu) sounds so forced.
Beverages and more is a little more understandable but still lame that they really try to push it in their ads.
Who likes the short names?
Who agrees its a lame way to sound modern?
As far as a bank, i dont want new and flashy, i want established and serious.

Don’t forget Mickey D’s, yo! Fast food is hip and cool and if you don’t eat it, you’s a fool! Word.

it’s all about the future and the future generation can’t spell mutual or hold their attention long enough to say kentucky fried chicken

They don’t really bother me. In fact, I never even thought of companies trying to sound hip by marketing a shorter name. I thought they were just embracing the timesaver that the public already used to call them.
