Looking for stories of well known people who became successful after failure?

Searcher asked:

Hi! I’m trying to compile a list of people who faced difficulties before becoming highly successful. Can you come up with some more names for me to add to the list?

My list includes
Thomas Edison (took him about 1,000 tries to invent the lightbulb)
Henry Ford (went bankrupt several times before becoming successful)
Oprah Winfrey (was told she was not television material)
Col. Harland Sanders (founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and made his fortune AFTER age 65).

Thanks for your help!

Thomas

There are anumber of well known figures in literature, science, in politics , in socil reforms, who were afflicted with poverty, ill will of others, downright oppression on caste creed faith basis who finally became successful. There are a number of collections of articles and biographies on these lines which could help I feel.Good luck!
