Recipe question similar to KFC bowls?
Sheila asked:
My son’s college serves a similar version of a Kentucky Fried Chicken bowl. It has the mashed potatoes, then white meat chicken strips, shredded cheese, but he also says sour cream and “green stuff”. He wants to make it, but I am unsure what the green stuff is, maybe parsley? Any ideas?

the green stuff is probably chives or could be even spring onions

It’s probably lettuce.

Maybe sliced green onions? Or chives?
I know the KFC bowls are topped with chicken, cheese, corn, and gravy.
Talk about some warm comfort food!!
Good luck!

There’s no sour cream or green stuff (my sister works at KFC). It has white or brown gravy (really depends on what gravy they have more of in stock that day), and the white gravy has coarsely ground pepper flakes in it, that may look greenish against the white gravy background. The cheese is a “Monterrey Jack” and “Mild Cheddar” blend (which I put in quotes because it’s all processed).
Since this is a school serving it, it may have chives in the potatoes, but I know KFC doesn’t.
