was it a virus or too much grease?

kentucky fried chicken
Jessica T asked:

I’m on a lactose intolerance diet. Greasy foods cause me to get diarreha. I get nausea, fast heartbeat, and shakey and diarreha. Last night was my birthday and we had Kentucky Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, a roll, cake batter and cake. I threw up 2x last night. it’s never happened before. I have a fear of throwing up too. Was it a virus or too much grease?

Well yes, obviously too much grease.

The potatoes, roll, and cake batter all have milk in them but the fried chicken probably combined to give you a heckuva tummy problem! Try to stick to your prescribed diet because you’ll be suffering if you don’t.

You answered your own question Dear. Greasy foods make you sick and you ate greasy food. Happy Birthday!

Sounds like you’re stressing over it and going for the worst possible outcome. I have news for you, sometimes the most mundane answers can solve your problem.

Throwing up is your stomach’s way of getting rid of things it doesn’t like. It doesn’t necessarily mean there was anything wrong with the food, it just means your stomach didn’t like it.

Now, if everybody at the table had similar problems you could say there was a problem with the food. As you didn’t mention that, I think it’s a safe bet that the food was okay.

If you had a virus, you’d still be feeling the effects from it the next day. Typically these things don’t go away immediately afterwards. So I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a virus.

This leaves the grease or possbily the combination of foods in your stomach.

My suggestion is, don’t sweat it and don’t eat that stuff again. KFC is nasty enough to begin with and it’s about time people realised this.
