close… they were gonna go with “Krazy Fabulous Chicken” because of my kitchen dancing. it got high marks in san fransisco…. God hated it.

The real answer to this is actually quite amusing. The state of Kentucky copyrighted it’s own name, and KFC would have had to pay royalties, or so the story goes.
