What amp should i get for 12″ Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1200F?
cole d asked:
i really don’t know that much about amps so i was wondering what one i should get i was looking at the alpine v-power amps but im not sure what do u suggest. it would really help me out if u can answer this question thanks
If you have 2, and they’re both dual 4-ohm subs, I would get an amp that can supply at least 500 watts at 4-ohms. This way, each sub will get 250 watts and 125 watts per coil. I currently have an Alpine MRP-M650, and I love it. You can get the MRP-M500 and be perfectly fine. If it’s only one sub, the MRP-M500 will still be fine, becuase if you wire the sub to 2 Ohms, the M500 will provide ample power.
Make sure to set your gains correctly! Here’s how:
