I tried an olive oil, cornflake, Mrs. Dash, and egg shake and bake to simulate fried chicken, but it was not good at all.

Dip the chicken in buttermilk, then in the breading. Sprinkle with a little olive oil and water in the oven, and for the last minute or so put it in the broiler. I guarantee it will be delicious!

Beat a couple eggs, add about a tsp of soy sauce, set aside. In another (larger) bowl, crush some corn flakes.

    Cut up your chicken.

Dip your chicken in the egg wash and then roll in the crushed corn flakes. Bake in 350 degree oven until done

You can oven fry it. Coat the chicken pieces with bisquick, or flour seasoned with poultry seasoning, white pepper and a bit of paprika. Arrange the pieces in a baking pan and add 1/4 melted butter. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 450 oven for about 30 minutes turn over and bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until nicely browned.

Season your chicken and coat the chicken in flour, then fry them in a non-stick pan in olive oil until brown. You just want to brown the chicken, not cook it all the way through. This is fairly quick.

Then place your browned chicken parts in a baking ban and throw it in the oven at 350 for 1/2 hour.

You get the best of both worlds. Fried chicken flavor with less fat from cooking in the oven.

This is the absolute tastiest oven fried chicken you’ll ever make.

    1 cup crushed rice krispies
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    1/8 t. pepper
    1/4 cup chopped almonds
    1 t. salt, optional
    1/4 t. crushed thyme
    2 T. minced parsley
    1/2 cup butter
    1/2 clove garlic, minced
    2 ½ to 3 lbs. chicken pieces

Combine the first 7 ingredients. Melt the butter and garlic. Dip the chicken in butter then in crumbs. Place in baking dish and cook at 375 degrees for 1 ½ hours.

We marinate chicken in Italian salad dressing for several hours and then roll it in seasoned bread crumbs. Place the chicken on a broiler pan - spray the pan with vegetable spray first. The spray the chicken with the vegetable spray. I know this sounds a little strange, but it helps it to be crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. Bake at 375 until golden brown and no pink juices. Enjoy!

    Oven-Baked Fried Chicken

If you love fried chicken, but are trying to steer clear of the all the grease, this is a great compromise because it bakes instead of frying in oil.

    Ingredients
    1/2 C. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. onion powder
    1 tsp. dried oregano
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
    4 bone-in chicken ******* halves
    Non-stick cooking spray

    Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, mustard, salt, and pepper. Close the bag and shake to combine. Add chicken, seal and shake to coat chicken. Remove chicken and discard the flour mixture. Transfer chicken to a large baking sheet that has been coated with non-stick spray. Spray the top of the chicken ******* with spray also. Bake 35 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.

    Yield: 4 servings
