I know MSG is supposed to be bad for you, but I use it for some veggies...in my opinion it does make stuff taste better. That said, I doubt it's JUST MSG, because IIRC I've seen black specks when I use to eat KFC (which I haven't done in 9 years or so--not since I went vegetarian). I can't taste any herbs in it at all. They use MSG in almost all of their meat foods.
