Because, they think putting chicken on the front will make it sound more appealing.

“chicken fried chicken” refers to a boneless breaded chicken ****** that is flattened so as to resemble a chicken fried steak, and smothered in country gravy.

The reason it’s called “chicken fried chicken” rather than just “fried chicken” is that the batter for chicken fried chicken is slightly different than for fried chicken. Chicken fried chicken usually has an egg/milk base, while fried chicken has a water or milk base.

Hope this helps… I got to go lie down now and unfry my chicken brains! :)

I always understood the chicken-fried term as meaning that the meat is battered and fried in a pan rather than deep fryer, as the way country fried chicken was originally prepared. With large restaurants these days, I think it is just easier to throw them in a deep fryer. Then you have chicken-fried steak.
